Grant Ganzer
Grant Ganzer
Since the age of five, seventeen year old, Grant Ganzer, has been singing and playing guitar to audiences with wide success. The Johnston High School junior has stepped onto the world stage with his successful audition and performances on NBC’s The Voice. With grace and style, Grant rose to the opportunity of a lifetime to bring his unique soulful voice to a worldwide audience. Premiering on September 22, 2014, his audition was watched by 12.95 million views.

After posting videos on YouTube for friends and family, The Voice talent scouts discovered Grant’s artistic ability and extended an invitation to a private audition in Chicago. After extensive auditions, interviews, and cuts, Grant took the stage to perform for the celebrity judges during the Blind Auditions. Singing Allen Stone’s, Unaware, Grant impressed and captured the attention of winning judge, Blake Shelton, who turned his chair and invited Grant to join his team of twelve. Said Blake, “Grant is an amazing and powerful singer with so much conviction. His voice is not quite like anyone else’s.”

Following the Blind Auditions, Grant had the opportunity to work along side Blake and his mentor band, Little Big Town, to prepare for the Battle Rounds, a duet sing-off ending in one person’s elimination from the team. Grant won the battle round singing, Stop and Stare by One Republic.

In preparation for the third performance on The Voice, Grant, Blake, and guest mentor, Taylor Swift, worked to ready his voice and stage presence for the Knockout Round. Experiencing the encouragement, professional advice, and fun atmosphere was an amazing experience that Grant has taken and applied as he continues to perform.

Highlights from Grant’s experience on The Voice include recording at world renown Hansen Studios, coaching with celebrity judges, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams, winning performances, and meeting the other talented singers and musicians.

Upon returning from Los Angeles, Grant has turned his focus to his own songwriting and has worked with his vocal coach and producer, Carolyn Petsche, to bring his original music to the world. Through countless hours of rehearsals and studio time, Grant will release his original EP the summer of 2015.

Grant’s unique neo soul style has captured the attention of thousands, and over the last year has garnished a great deal of national attention, especially right here in central Iowa. Most recently, Grant was selected to perform and represent Iowa’s best musicians at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX. One of the largest, influential, and most anticipated music events of the year, over 28,000 music industry professionals and musicians attended six nights of music performed by over 2,300 acts representing 57 foreign countries at over 100 venues in downtown Austin, Texas. The Greater Des Moines Partnership, Sonic Factory Studios, Live Nation, House of Blues, and Def Jam were all sponsors of this event and made the Des Moines Embassy music venue a reality. This music venue drew thousands of people from across the nation. Grant and his band debuted his new release album with great success.

Grant’s fan base continues to grow exponentially. The local radio, TV, and music communities have supported his efforts across the state. Grant’s performances, videos, and Instagram posts have reached over one million video views.
